About the Bible

The Bible has been under attack since it was written. In fact, God's Word has been attacked since the beginning of mankind.

Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the LORD God had made. He said to the woman, "Did God really say, `You must not eat from any tree in the garden'?"

The woman said to the serpent, "We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but God did say, `You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.' "

"You will not surely die," the serpent said to the woman. "For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil." Genesis 3:1-5

Satan questioned God's Word, in fact he contradicted God's Word when he said, "You will not surely die...". Satan also caused Eve to question God's Word as well otherwise she would not have eaten the fruit that was forbidden.

There have been many other attacks on God's Word since then, especially on radio, television, magazines, newspapers and even church pulpits. It is understandable that non-Christians would make such attacks, but it is distressing to hear it from the pulpit. The articles and links below are a great resource to help you determine what is and what is not true concerning the Bible. There is no attempt here to prove the existence of God, but the idea is to prove that the Bible is historically accurate, that there is a standard of interpretation, that the church sometimes contradicts the Bible, that there are no contradictions within the Bible itself, and that the Bible contains all anyone needs to know about God and what He expects from us.

NOTE: The following 8 part article (including cited References) was written to compare the historicity and veracity of the Qur'an versus the Bible. I have placed the same links in the False Teachers section under Islam, but the reason they are here is that there is a lot of good information with regard to the historical value and accuracy of the Bible. Many people, Christians included, believe that the Bible has been altered in such a way that there is no way to know for certain what is true within its pages. This series of articles should help to dispel that false conclusion.
